Preschool Programs

- Curriculum: We are implementing The Creative Curriculum because it is in alignment with the Hawai‘i Preschool Content Standards for Four-Year-Olds and meets all of the standards for effective early childhood curricula by the NAEYC. In addition, The Creative Curriculum is based on the latest research on how children learn best and has been shown through experimental studies to improve classroom quality and promote the school readiness of preschool children.
- Annual Schedule: We operate year round and are closed for holidays and 9 training days/year

PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT
APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Ask Program Director, Tamiko Bogacz, for a tour of our campus.
- Call Tamiko at our Māʻili location (808) 695-9400 or Angela Lacey at our Mākala location (808) 695-9656 for additional information or enrollment forms.
- We enroll children year round on a space-available basis, and our school year is July through June.
TUITION ASSISTANCE
Pauahi Keiki Scholars Preschool Scholarships
- Provides need-based scholarships for young keiki to attend quality preschools. Preference is given to those of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent provided by law.
- We will assist families with the application process.
- The application period is from January through April for the following school year.
Preschool Open Doors
- Provides tuition subsidies to low-income families for their three-year old with special needs or four-year old child to attend preschool.
- We will assist families with the application process.
- The application period is during February and March for the following school year.
Childcare Connection
- Provides tuition subsidies for low-income parents to send their child to preschool in order for them to go to work, attend school, or participate in job training.
- Call Childcare Connection (CCC) at (808) 356-5577 to be mailed an application or come to our office (see Wai‘anae Early Education Center for map and directions) to pick up applications for CCC and our preschool.
Scholarship information
- Partial scholarships are available through funding from an endowment from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation and grants from the G.N. Wilcox Trust and Samuel N. & Mary Castle Foundation, while funds last.

PATCH
- Families that have children that are younger than 2 years old, may contact PATCH for contact information about licensed childcare providers.
- The PATCH website, www.patchhawaii.org, has online childcare referrals or call 839-1988.
Waiting list — Families will be placed on the waiting list in the order that we receive completed application packets.
WAI‘ANAE EARLY EDUCATION CENTER MĀKAHA

Wai‘anae, HI 96792 - Directions: After you turn from Farrington Highway onto Makaha Valley Road, take the fourth left onto Noholio Road and the preschool will be on your immediate left.
- Maximum enrollment: 100 children
- Hours of operation: Temporarily closed due to COVID
- Ages served: 2 years old to 4 years old
(2 year-olds not required to be potty trained)

Wai‘anae, HI 96792 - Directions: After you turn from Farrington Highway onto Kaukama Road, take the first left onto Kulauku Street, at the end of the road drive straight ahead into the last driveway. Turn right, drive past the first left turn into a parking lot, make a left turn, and turn left into the parking lot at the back of the property. The preschool building will be to your left. At the end of the parking lot, enter the gate on the left and the preschool office will be the first room on your left.

- Ages served: 3 and 4 years old
